The single-minded Squier Contemporary Telecaster shrugs off tradition to deliver full-fat yet efficient sound and comes coated in a future-proof body and headstock paint-job. The RH pickup configuration involves the refined potency of a slim SGR Rail Humbucker at the bridge and a full-sized SQR Atomic Humbucker at the neck that can be combined or isolated for wide ranging, and unusually thick Tele tone, while the fixed bridge and string-through-body construction ensures that time-honoured sustain and outstanding resonance.
The Contemporary Telecaster RH
The good people of Squier have gifted this model with a roasted maple neck, which doesn't just look great, but ensures enhanced stability, while another smart design detail is the thoughtfully rounded heel, allowing comfortable access to each of the 22 jumbo frets along the roasted maple fretboard. To finish, black binding outlines the iconic body shape and sets off the ultra-modern paint job, complete with matching headstock. The Squier Contemporary Telecaster is definitely something else.

Geweldige gitaar als je eens iets anders wilt dan een standaard Telecaster. De pickups zijn enorm hot, en beter geschikt voor rock & metal dan voor clean of bluesy. Er zit een hele mooie roasted maple neck op, die lekker soepel speelt met jumbo frets. De pearlescent white kleur is ook erg mooi, zeker als je hem goed in het licht houdt. Mijn exemplaar kwam zo uit de doos in een perfecte afstelling, frets goed level en zelfs ook met een prima set snaren. De gitaar resoneert goed, en heeft veel sustain. Elektronica en stemmechanieken zijn ook allemaal van goede kwaliteit, gitaar blijft goed gestemd. Het is nu bijna een half jaar sinds ik deze heb, en ik heb er nog niets aan versteld of zelfs maar de snaren vervangen. Gewoon echt een goede gitaar, zeker voor dit geld. Vergeleken met wat Squier produceerde in jaren ' 90 is dit echt een wereld van verschil. Samen met de Classic Vibe serie komen de duurdere Squiers tegenwoordig makkelijk in de buurt van de Mexicaanse Fenders, misschien zijn ze zelfs wel beter (mijn CV 60 strat laat mijn Fender player strat tegenwoordig stof verzamelen).
